I considerably startled each bunch of checkpoint volunteers on a recent race by tipping far more sweet wrappers and gel tubes and other miscellaneous race detritus into their bin bags than one person could reasonably expect to consume.

I was told at work that my manager and the department lead supported my application for an assignment in another department, which is for 1 day a week, for 6 months. Once I got the assignment offered to me, they backtracked, and said that they'd only grant me 4 week trial to make sure it didn't compromise my work. Utter idiots. I guess the others can have the nice 6 month assignments and I...erm...the crumbs?
