Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

Yes MMM, your heart sinks when you see that the download is compulsory and you can't defer/ignore. You just know pain and unhappiness is coming, yet also there never seems to be anything good/new after. Total ball ache.

Oh dear! Nobody told me about this when I asked for recommendations for a running watch. As a result of this I’m the proud owner of a Garmin Forerunner 35, but now waiting for problems!

[I've never had any problems with my Garmin that uninstalling and reinstalling Garmin Express or Connect didn't fix]

The battery on my Garmin going flat in the final mile of a marathon, despite it being charged up all night. OK, I'm not the quickest but it should work for up to five hours.

[This is why I have a Fenix with insanely long battery life... it definitely isn't because I'm any good. Oh, and it lets you finish syncing before installing updates, and you can even defer them]

Surreyphil - the lower range models of garmin have a smaller battery life. I had one when I did Berlin and was worried it would run out. I now buy a better model so that i don't have to worry about my watch battery running out when I am running a marathon.

My son had the basic Garmin forerunner 10 and got a 4 hour marathon out of it no problem.
I have just bought the forerunner 35 so fingers crossed for no problems (never done a marathon right enough)
