Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch
or for an ad-free Fetcheveryone experience!

Things you want to say and can, probably for a bit of sympathy or attention but theres no one there whos listening.

I'm reading a book. It's shit. As a result I'm reading about a line a week and it's going to take a gazillion years to finish. But I have to finish it. I never give up.

I have a new book I really want to read and which I will no doubt fly through. I'm tempted to read it then return to shit book but I won't as that would be cheating. These are rules that I have imposed on myself.

I think I have mental health issues.

OB, stop effing around and put the rubbish book away. I'm a bit like that but occasionally come up against one I simply can't do (generally arsey Booker prize winning ones that don't make sense, but I feel i ought to read anyway). Note to self - reading a book should be a pleasure. Sometimes a bit difficult but a pleasure nonetheless.

PH. I can probably count the ones I have done it to on the fingers of one hand too. Still feel guilty about 'Life of Pi' :-(

I know reading should be a pleasure and I should ditch the book. Maybe I'll try and do it.

BTW someone just leant me shades of grey. I don't think I've read one of those sort of books before!

Life of Pi - just got bored of it. Probably should have persevered but it sat next to my bed for about 3 years about 1/4 read, until I moved house ( and it didn't!)

That book divides people CStar. I loved it and saw the play at the Minack Theatre.
