Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

Cheers Si. TBH I'm in awe of my own V45 HM time - I've never got anywhere near it since. But we've got a few years to lay down some V50 times.

Likewise Jase - training holiday was never going to happen. But I've played a long game and now the mini-Bobs are decent training partners. That leaves Mrs Bob holding the stop watch ;)

This thread is going bl00dy mad, I cant keep up with my job as well! Just briefly as I cant possibly comment on all of this:

Sean - cheers, appreciate the comments. i have a feeling you are right RE Paddock Wood. i think I may keep the mileage up high this week, MP it with 4 miles beforehand, enjoy it, then taper for 2w not 3w. Am sure you are going to run well and 2.32 would be a good effort - think you will do that for sure!

TC - excellent name dropping, like it - who are all these people though?! Who is Lorna?

Jock - love your chat, does make me laugh!

Bob - you got to go close to even paced in a marathon - no brainer in my opinion as others have said - though its up to you!

RJ - your plan sounds sensible to me. i am sure you are going to run a good race. Im not as confident as you RE a PB for myself, but we will see!

James - all welcome on this thread espeically with 77 half!

Afternoon chaps. Hows everyone's taper going? Decided I am going to keep the mileage up this week and run Paddock Wood reasonably fast but not flat out, with a 4 mile warm up first to make it a 17 miler. Did one of my best track sessions last night, 5 * 1600 @ 2 mins recovery: 5.03, 5.02, 5.01, 4.59, 4.58. Really hope I am starting to peak at the right time! RtP did a great session as well, will let him update on that. Thats it in terms of hard track sessions now - next 2 weeks are going to be easing down.

Ant I'm running the Bournemouth Bay Run this Sunday. How much does the 1st hill slow you down?

It's not too bad as it's early in the race, also back down onto the prom following a short stretch on top so you make it up. Just take it easy first couple of miles then it's flat for the rest. Wind will be a bigger factor

Not too bad ta Ben. Good session on Tuesday 12x400 avge 69. With 200 jog recovery. Last one was a 66.5 which I think is a 400pb ;-) . Rare rest day yesterday and 13.5 progressive this morning in 6:10 avge. So I think I'm in pretty good nick. Doing a parkrun on Saturday and hopeful I can be c15:30 shape. I know I'm ready if I can do something around that.

Ant that looks like it is one of those famous BAC sessions? Good effort fella. Looking in good nick yourself!
