Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

You can take the 700 mile thread off the list, we basically just talk about bums, cake, bunting, bogs and fancy dress. Use of the R word isn't frequent...

There are a lot of really helpful training threads, but it is sometimes not easy to get a quick overview of what they each have to offer.

There is a space in the panel to the left of each thread entitled ‘about this thread’ that can be edited by the person who initiated the thread. Maybe it would be a good tradition to establish that the ‘owners’ of threads that become popular put a brief overview of the thread content or aims in that panel, and keep it up to date, or if they prefer, provide a link to an article in the Wiki.

I think in general that happens, but there are undoubtedly exceptions. And sometimes the threads are so old that the originator has moved on, or at least not visited recently. In that case, any of the regular contributors are welcome to drop me a line, and I can make a new 'thread admin'.

So maybe I'll ditch the mileage target ones, but I have a nice list building up now. Thanks everybody :-)
