Went out and did 4 miles this morning, mostly walking as my back is still niggling. Doesn't bode well for Cork, normally I would cancel but I've decided to go although I think it will be a struggle to get round.

That is a shame Shades but seems to have taken an age to recovery from it. Maybe go for the break rather than the marathon?
Running rest day as PT day but been for short walk.

WP - I don't do non marathon holidays. But I'm going anyway and will do my best to finish.
I can't do Cork next year as I'm planning a 50km in Co Galway, which might be the same weekend as Cork, or the following weekend.
Enjoy your PT session.

That’s a shame Shades. You’ll still enjoy the weekend though, but hopefully the event itself is manageable also.
Something slightly different for me, as van in for its MOT. I take it to a place near to where I used to live, so I drove it over there and then ran back for 7 miles, 50/50 road/trail, hilly and with some rain. Really enjoyed it! Depending on when van is done and presuming no issues, I’ll either bus over to get it today, or run back over tomorrow to collect it.

Big G - yes, I'm very fond of Cork and I'll just do my best at the marathon.
Nice to have a different and purposeful run. Hope the van sails through it's MOT.

WP well done on the deadlifts…. Yuk to 5km races, nearly fainted at the thought of a series of 5km races. I’ve only ever done one fairly flat out 5km race.
Ian sounds like you’re sorted for SA sounds like being busy at work is almost like an enforced taper.
Shades hope the back eases before Cork marathon. Nothing results showing on the NHS app either.
Big G hope the MOT goes well, always nice to change routes up.
7 miles this evening very drizzly out. Weather doesn’t seem to be much better here or Manchester this week. Saturday looks okay for a parkrun, walk round Manchester and cricket at old Trafford .

Rob: I know they are brutal fast and over with quickly!
Hope it stays dry for the cricket!
