Can anyone recommend ladies cycling shorts that have lots of padding in the lady bits area ? I've tried a few types now and the padding seems to be mainly in the bum with not much up front !

I resorted to vasaline as my shorts were coming up short in the protection department. Looking forward to your responses PQ.

Why do you want padding up front? maybe your setup on the bike isn't right and too much pressure is put on the front? All the weight shoulde be on your seatbones, unless you are on a lo profile time trialling bike, in which case the better route is to get a saddle with a cutout...

Gore have several levels of padding. But you may also like think about your saddle so you're sitting on your bones not your bits!

I've found Altura pro-gel (you can get 3/4 ones or shorts) to be a pretty good, reasonably priced option, and the chamois is kind to skin. I agree with Hanneke though, check you saddle position and maybe check your saddle. A good women's specific saddle can make quite a difference.

The padding is on the bum because that's where your contact points with the saddle should be.

If your bits are hurting then try putting the nose of the saddle down a bit, see what happens if you move the saddle forward a bit - does your weight go back onto your bum bones better? And if that doesn't work, buy a saddle with a cutout (that's what i have).

Another vote for Altura shorts. I got a couple of pairs from wiggle, very reasonably priced!

Sorry can't be any help as I only use trishorts.
Did notice a difference when I 1st switched fro cycle shorts but seem to have acoustomised now.

They do seem to have equal 'padding' front and back tho so wonder if might be worth a try
