great run! started out round my usual route, and had one of those 'i wonder where that path leads' moments...glad i decided to find out as i had a lovely run on a boardwalk built within a little gorge with a rippling stream, and protected from the sun by leafy cover! and all this within a 5 minute drive of the house i have lived in for nearly 2 years ![]() angleseyheritage.org |

I am in recovery. Quite by accident I have more or less followed the plan for the first week of the Pfitzinger 5 week marathon recovery schedule (see my blog if interested) so of course something had to be done about that. I wasn't "scheduled" to run today so I took 5;40 for the first km and then about 5 minutes each for the next couple before my Polar told me I was building up a severe oxygen deficit, persuading me to cut back to about 5:15 for the next couple. By then I was frazzled and decided to "recover". So I walked about 100 yards of each of the next 5 k and managed to get my HR up to 89% HRR each time I broke into a trot (about 5:29 mins pr k). Kidded myself that this was marathon pace (would get you home in about 3:49). I had a pint of water with a nuun tab after I got in but I've been peeing dark yellow ever since ![]() Wot a state I am in! |

A nice 16 miles. Not as far as I intended to go but far enough considering I'm knackered and have decided to cut back a bit this weekend by only doing 10k of 20 miles yesterday and 16 of 20 miles today... Total rest tomorrow... |
