Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

OK, but a bit concerned that my heart rate was too high for the effort. A worrying sign that I might be ill, as I feared :-(

On a quick 4 miler from my hotel aearly this morning, in Bury St Edmonds, I spotted a duck on the river followed by three teeny weeny ducklings, it was so cute I had to stop for a few moments to watch...

Brutal.

A new hill session, jog there (0.7miles), 9 sets of uphill hard 0.43 miles, jog back down, then 0.7 miles back under the midday sun. Total workout 1:08:48 covering 8.37 miles at av 150bpm. Within that the 9 uphill 0.43 bursts were at pace: 6:56, 7:02, 7:11, 7:10, 7:19, 7:25, 7:18, 7:33, 6:50. REally gave me a buzz doing a new session, feeling like I'm back in the groove after a few days rest over Easter.

Someone thought it might be a nice idea to run to the top of Twmbarlwm lunchtime.

That will be 1350ft high that will. (We cheated and started at 400ft - so only actually 950ft)

Longest run I've ever done. 18.1 miles in 2:07:51.

NOTE TO SELF

Never, ever go walking in the peak District one day, then do a long run teh day after, it does you no good whatsoever. I was aching from the start and the ham, cheese and pickle sandwiches I'd eaten 3.5 hrs earlier were stuck in my stomach. After 0.2 miles I got a stitch that stayed with me for the entire run. My legs felt like lead after and I'm gonna suffer tomorrow. Luckily I had a noice bath and as soon as I've had tea, the dogs walking with me!
