Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

The gym was open today, but a visit didn't fit well with today's social schedule. So, I pulled on the running shoes early morning and did 5 miles around local lakes. Very scary running outside!

My training's very 'measured and deliberate' indoors. In comparison, I find training outdoors totally effortless. So, ended up running a much faster pace than I'd planned.

Elderberry - "Why did it get hard all of a sudden?" My wife always asks just the opposite!

Did not expect to be running on Boxing Day, but my wife surprisngly (though thoughtfully!) bought me a head torch which I used this evening for the 1st time. A nice steady 3.5mile run round the hilly local country lanes, though still feeling the effects of stuffing myself with food and drink for the last day or so!

naughty Tim :-)

seriously (did you really want to know this ?) - long story, but I've been off running because of sore knee, and taken all the proper advice and actions - working up from 15 minute run (I'm at 25 - 30 minutes now) - but I have no energy, can barely raise my knees and I'm not convinced my original problem has gone. A bit disheartened, but so many nice running-related gifts for Christmas, no chance of giving it up !

John

What in God's name is a head-torch. Tells me it's not some kind of 'strap on' to enable people to run in the dark. That'd be just so sad!
