Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

How are you running in the snow? I haven't been out in it yet, but want to get a run in. Is it OK to run in normal trainers do you think?

I do cross country when it's been snowing. If it's icy I tend to suffer from cba, which was fine until Lord Fetch reminded me yesterday it's less than 16 weeks to VLM. Meh!

Hi Stella, I don't think it is icy, it is still snowing, so quite powdery i think. Have you run today in the snow?

Welcome to Fetch, Loubear :)

I am mostly running in the snow in off-road shoes and ultra-light Sealskinz socks, and about 2mins/mile slower than on tarmac, and loving it. I wouldn't like to try it in a pair of conventional road shoes without snow-chains of some sort, though.

4.75 miles with eL Bee! this afternoon. Quite laborious, but it's not killing me so it must be making me stronger. Innit.

I ran last night with the club in about 1 - 2 inches of fresh snow, off road in the dark and it was perfectly safe. The way was illuminated by all the white, so no headtorches needed. Going out later and providing you don't run on the very icy bits should be ok. I tend to just run in normal road shoes, no prob.
