Third run back after the three week holiday, and I am starting to recover some form. First run back 5:38 per km, second run 5:30 per km, today 9km at 5:15 per km. Not my sharpest, but well inside my old 10k PB pace - just in time for Cardiff 10k on Sunday. (At my best there is still another 10+ secs per km in my legs somewhere).

Dave, it's a sort of exquisite pain; it hurts but you just need to do it again
Been for a nice 7.5 miler at recovery pace after yesterday evening's hard run. Nice...

I know how you feel Max, and reading about everyone else getting out there and enjoying it is very depressing.
Your turn to shine in the running department will come again soon (by which time one of us will be suffering).
As for my run today.... like The Alien...wet, wet, wet. (that should be Alien's run, not Alien himself obviously, just my poor grammar).

Forest Runner
Surprised by my run today. The schedule indicated a 10 mile run at the usual pace, which isn't clear and is apparently meant to be a bit slower than marathon pace, maybe 30-60 seconds. I set off at a pace that felt "right" for the run, and found I was speeding up throughout the run, just as I did last time I ran this course. That is particularly surprising as two of the last four miles are mainly uphill, and the pace still kept increasing. I know I should stick to the schedule as I've got another 10 mile run and a 20 mile run at the weekend (although I will have to do the 10 mile run tomorrow), but I allowed myself to keep picking up the pace, as it became a marathon pace run in the end - average 7:58 per mile compared to 8:00 per mile for MP.
This month is now my highest monthly total recorded on FE and therefore quite probably my highest monthly total ever (although possibly not). This week will also be my highest weekly total recorded on FE, but not my highest ever weekly total, which stands at almost 20 miles more at about 75 miles.
