Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

How precious are you about your milk saucepan?

There isn't an option for "I don't even have one", a marked omission.

I don't even have one, jug in the microwave, if required. People will be making custard in their paellera next.

I'm not sure I even have a milk pan. Is it just a small pan? Like the pan you might use for making porridge for 1 or boiling a couple of eggs.

Ours was handy for melting butter to baste the Turkey as it made pouring it nice n easy. Never occurred to me it was for milk. I never have cause to heat milk up !

It’s a small pan used for anything. Very rarely have the need to boil up milk.

I don't have a microwave, but I do have a milk saucepan which is used almost exclusively for porridge making and so in our house it is known as the porridge pot. It also gets used for heating custard. I'm not precious about it though, if we needed to heat a few peas then I would happily use it.

It’s the sort of thing I could become precious about... but I’m somehow not. I am precious about anyone going near nonstick pans with metal implements, however...

Would you heat frozen peas in it, for example?
