Hi Lucy, I've got a forerunner 10 ... Had it for a year or so & love it. Weat it most days. I start it finding sats whilst I lace up my shoes & harness up a dog ... It's slower than the one my sons godfather just bought my son for his b'day .... That is one that tells you swim laps, bike & run .... & I'm thinking of getting a pink strap to use it whilst he's safely tucked at school!

Welcome to Fetch :-)

I've got a Forerunner 10 and it's great as a GPS watch for beginners. I bought mine from handtec handtec.co.uk

A bit more expensive than the Garmins mentioned above is the Polar M400 which has loads more functionality that might prove handy if you really get into this running lark. I’ve had one for 6 months and it is great.

+1 for a Garmin 15, I got one for the missus last year and it's a great entry-level watch. Plus comes in a smaller size for the more dainty of wrist and comes in a range of colours so of course I bought her one in each colour so she could match whatever outfit she was wearing.

That last bit isn't true.

enjoy :) If you need to know how to do anything on it, there are Youtube videos (easier than reading the manual!)

Am going to revive this thread.. Is everyone still happy with their purchases? Anything new in the basic GPS market worth looking at?

You can get a TomTom Runner2 Cardio for 129.99, I got mine two days ago, did my first run yesterday and will be doing my first bike ride shortly then writing a blog about it. It has an optical HRM under the watch which reads off your wrist. And 1s GPS logging.

Got something to say?
