Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

I ran out along the ridge from Cutthroat. Got to Back Tor/Lost Lad and the consensus seemed to be that it was still at the roost in Abbey Brook. So I headed out there to the vantage point directly opposite the Crag it's using. Watched it there for 5-10 mins and then it flew. It headed south down the ridge, watched it past Back Tor and then followed it. Lost sight of it but I hear it came down the ridge, over Cutthroat and vanished over Bamford Moor. A good day out and a 13 mile hill run throw in.

Yellowhammer flying from a local hedgerow this morning :)

Been using the BirdNET app to help me improve my birdsong ID. I can now tune in to the Yellowhammers resident around local lanes. This is the first one I've actually caught sight off.

Glad you found it FF 😀

Great that you’ve spotted one C-cat 😍

Had a lovely view of a Wren on this afternoon’s walk after Phoof hound disturbed it from the nettles where it was. It sat in the bush and glared at me 😉

Kestrel hunting too which I always love seeing 😀

I’ve noticed a change in habit of our regular adult male blackbird.

He used to be quite ballsy and not very wary of us, and sometimes would be waiting for his morning food to be put out. Now though, he’s rather more skittish and not so bold.

He’s finished foraging for the young and I wondered if there is some sort of hormone change at this stage which alters behaviour accordingly.

Any ideas?
