Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

Forgot about this thread! The scabs on my hand are just healing from my last journey which was a trip on a kerb into some temporary barrier erected around works in the town. Didint twist by ankle though, so that's a bonus!

I've only fallen twice in my 10 years of running - a trip over a wonky paving slab resulting in scuffed hands & knees, and a proper silent movie / cartoon legs from under me back-splat on slimy mud.

Thankfully neither was witnessed - the first was before dawn and the second in a muddy field in the middle of nowhere.

I came close to a third this week: I tripped and stumbled forward, arms flailing and legs buckling; I just managed to save it before hitting the deck. I don't think it was seen, but the involuntary yell as I pitched forward was definitely heard by a woman smoking outside a nearby office building!

Thankfully, I don't fall much. However, it tends to be on freezing cold winter mornings when I don't see an icy patch.

Few cuts and grazes but I’ll soldier on. The worst bit was getting a dead leg from the impact and then trying to run on it .. which is probably how I fell a second time.

3 falls due to shoelaces sounds pretty unlucky 😕

Ive done it a few times, couple I got lucky and kind of forward rolled to save myself.

But once basically used my face to stop my momentum which lead to some bleeding and pretty nasty gashes. Usually involved my kicking the floor for no reason.
