I feel over a tree root on my run today about 1km in. My arm hurts. CW |

I fell over a tree root about 16 miles into my 16 and a half mile run the other weekend. I was trying to read directions and run at the same time. I'm not very good at it. Also tripped on a kerb stone half a mile from the end of a 17 mile run the following weekend. I see a pattern here. I saved myself from falling, but appear to have sprained a buttock doing so. It's a hard life. |

I think I’ve been falling over more since my sight has been going down hill. That or the roots are hiding better these days.

I've gone the other way, got better at unconsciously noting where my feet are going and where the obstacles are. Maybe I spend more on glasses and contacts than you do Twice in two weeks is pretty unusual for me.

Fell over on this morning’s commute, running down some rickety wooden boardwalk thing. Managed to avoid the nails on landing so just some small grazes on my right hip. Fortunately no audience, so all good That was my first fall since .. um .. Saturday. I’ll be back *watches thread* |

My last fall was on the morning of my 55th birthday a couple of weeks back. I sort of forward-rolled over my shoulder then lay there on my back on the gnarly woodland trail feeling like an old fool and wondering whether it was time to use the woods for walking now rather than running.

My last one was near the end of this year's wet season, on the way to parkrun. It was a tree root got me under the trees, fortunately a soft, muddy, wet leaves landing, full frontal after an arms out aeroplane kind of manouevre. I was quite upset that no one had seen it. Why do we always feel a bit of a fool when we fall over? |

I sort of "fell off my foot" on a woodland trail jog this morning, ridiculous!

Arse over tit this morning coming down a set of rock steps that are a bit iffy when wet, and apparently even worse when icy. Fell over again 30 seconds later to confirm that. |

No permanent damage, I hope? I find the trick is stopping my watch before I hit the deck.
