Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

Hell, I have. Fell over on the Cumbrian Way on Christmas Eve on sheet ice, legs up, straight on my arse. Hurt like hell. Then I fell coming off High Rigg on icy grass, must have slid for about 20 yards, bruised hip, all the colours of the the rainbow.

I fell over on Sunday. Patch of black ice on a slight downward slope. My feet went from under me and I fell backwards straight down (fortunately in some ways as I didn’t have time to stiffen up). I was well padded so no real harm done, just a bit stiff the next couple of days

Stacked it at mile 1 of a 10 mile run today. Tripped over an uneven paving stone. Nearly styled it out, but ended up going over. Fortunately no damage apart from a minor graze on my knee. Managed to avoid going head first into a bus stop so that was a good thing!

Tripped on a stone sticking up a trail on Thursday, 1.5 miles from start of 11+ miles, can’t believe how I got off so lightly, various bruises in random places, my friends were surprised to see me sprawled on the ground and even more surprised to see me get up and carry on.
