Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

No strict rules, Hanneke. I changed the rules last year - you can pick your favourite newt from as far back or recently as you like. Whenever you get round to it.

So if something has already grabbed you... pick it.

I scrubbed the decking. Well, half of it. Never done that before. Only did it because I do boot camp on the decking. We had a newt breakfast, but OH made it. Sort-of omelettes in wraps with red onion, tomatoes and peppers.

Following on from yesterday I've now got a new loop to walk or run-walk. Down Kingsland road to the canal but then take first bridge off the canal rather than an out and back. Home via the glamorously named De Beauvoir Road and onto my old cycle route home from work if I wasn't using the canal.

De Beauvoir is pronounced Bow-voir as far as I know. I used to work in a shop on Beauchamp Place near Harrods. Beech-am doncha know.

It's still new even OH made it, Linds. Sounds nice. Scrubbing the decking doesn't sound nice but will make it nicer for you. x

My newt today is that I went for a run without my jacket and gloves. I took my jacket off on a run last week and thought I probably wouldn't need it. Obviously still had base layer, vest and long tights but definitely a sign of spring when I can go out without my jacket :-)

We have been watching a pair of blue tits that have taken an interest in one of the bird boxes that Mr GM made. The female is in the box and the male keeps coming and going. Mr GM has taken some photos on his proper camera with big lens.

How exciting GM! I hope they decide to move in heart
Well done Pix and BBL.
Am continuing my garden newts today. Have planted some more stuff, shaken some summer flower seed around, K is installing the water butt, and am now sitting in the sun with tea and biscuits. :)

About This Thread

starblackheartstar The sixth running of Do a New Thing for Spring starblackheartstar

Lent has a special and specific meaning to Christians but has become an secular season of denial and hair shirting that serves no positve purpose. No chocolate, no booze, no -er - other stuff.

Why not treat the build up to Easter - as a chance to celebrate and embrace NEW THINGS - that's what spring is about after all.

The first few pages of the thread give more ideas.
