Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,

This has probably been commented on before, but can’t find it at moment.

Do people count their cycle commute as part of training? Also on side note how short a session would people count as a session?

Currently doing 11.5miles each way (average 50mins) for commute, between which on feet the whole time.

I certainly did when I did it. Even paltry 2 milers but I did start with 7 milers each way

But you are your own judge you could always tag on some extra miles which I did sometimes

For my personal training diary I have a threshold of 10km continuous cycling before I log it (I wouldn't include 5km into town, and then 5km home later, for instance).

However, because of Conquercise and Fetchpoint I log pretty much everything here, including trips to the supermarket, pub, cinema, etc. Most of my cycling is still "training" though, I logged 7370km, but including all those little trips on Fetch, 8465km.

my cycle commute is a 25 mile round trip most days so hell yeah i'm gonna log it! Personally, i'll log anything over a mile - why not?

i have a mate who, when he was in the fire service, had a rule with the others that bike commuting wasn't 'proper' training. but i commuted over 6000 miles in the last 2 years and there's no way that it didn't benefit me, so i'm counting it!

Got something to say?
