Just found out something that others might be interested in. The Strength app on my Garmin FR945 counts press-ups for you. Maybe everybody but me already knows that, but it was a revelation to me!

How does it do that CW? Surely thereโs not enough movement through the wrist for the accelerometer to register.

Nellers, there is actually. Try it and see (if your watch has the strength app on). At the top of the press-up you get a jolt and I suspect it is that that it is registering. I just did 50 and it captured them all. Its also meant to work for pull-ups, sit-ups etc.

awesome. Though since I am still on five-at-a-time, it's probably not need for me just yet
Also, any tips on that? It's been a few weeks now and I still cannot really do more than 7 or 8 in a row without losing form. I also forget to breath though I'm not sure that is connected.

I just slowed upped it. 3 sets of 5, then 4 sets of five, then 3 sets of 7, then 4 sets of seven, then 3 sets of 8 etc.

Coros does that too but since it is a manual import to Fetch I don't bother logging them on Fetch.
I tend to breathe out on the down so I don't suck in dust from the floor but I think it is supposed to be the reverse

Thanks for the tip CW. I couldn't get it to count all of my adapted press ups, but it picked up 8/10 then 4/10 then 4/15. I need to play around a bit with my posture and find the best position for them to log.
