Broadly, it means the buying price for any player would be a few points higher than the selling price.

Exactly, there could be a purchase fee to pay, say 1% of the purchase value. Another way of achieving it would be to place, say, a 10% penalty if someone is sold within 2 days of being purchased, or something like that.

I'd vote for traders fees as well, 1 to 2 % just to make people really think before short term trading. Anyway, what's your strategy been fetch, you're not doing too badly?

A 24-hour time delay would eliminate the possibility of using "perfect" information; all a spread does is changes the calculations you would have to do at the end of the day. (And I suspect it would be more complicated to programme?)

I've had a dabble at this but all that scrolling up and down is doing my head in, especially when I pick someone I've already bought and have to start yet again.

My strategy was to look at the monthly mileage totals on user profiles, to see who was normally scoring highly, but who had also had a poor Nov/Dec. I also know (from nothing more than having my ear to the ground) that some folks were coming back from injury etc. I think I bought my runners on day 1, and haven't traded any of them in since. They've all done me proud :-)

but if you do that Fetch, you only "play" once....
then you sit on profits and watch them grow for sure, but it's not exactly thrilling, as far as games go

How To Play
As a trader, your job is to pick the runners that you think will increase in value.

You start with 1000 credits, and can use these to purchase shares in runners. If you think their mileage is about to drop, then it's time to sell.

Runner values are calculated based on the total volume of running mileage completed in the last 90 days. Values are recalculated as soon as a runner has logged a run.

Runners get a notification when you buy shares, but not when you sell them.

The value of a runner can go up or down, but don't threaten them. Have fun!
