Chrisull, I'm very much in favour of a 2nd referendum, but it should certainly be two options, not three, as you point out, because that would rightly be seen as rigging the vote in favour of Remain by splitting the Leave vote. One of the options could lead on to a secondary 2 option choice, though. So if some kind of deal is concocted, the primary question might be a Yes/No to accept the deal. If No, then the secondary question would be to remain in the EU, or to leave without a deal.

I'm still waiting for the brexit solution to the Irish problem. A major issue underpinning the creation of the EU was to stop European wars, after all. I don't suppose that's what brexiters mean when they talk of objecting to the European project.

Or maybe it was?

Surely transferrable votes with many voting options would be the way to go, ensures the various Brexit options are represented, and voters have a chance to express their preferences better

I confess to not fully understanding the Irish historical situation, but clearly there are no current options on the table that will satisfy all parties. NI voted to remain. I am wondering if they should get another referendum with options of remain in UK but with a border (location of that TBC !) or remain in the EU as part of a united Ireland. I guess thats not practical for a variety of reasons though

Banjo, the "unicorn" option would win a landslide no matter how the other choices were arranged. We do after all hold all the cards and only have to sign the easiest trade deal in history.

I'd say that I'm not in favour of a second referendum. From my perspective the damage seems to have already been done, and the consequences are already rolling towards us. Another referendum wont do much to undo what's been done, and could, quite possibly heighten tensions and render the country ungovernable.

There's a point at which we have to face up to things whether we voted for it or not. What's important is that those who put us here get called out for it - long and loud. I'm not holding my breath on that though.

Realistically our only hope, in the event of a no deal, is that the EU is as ill prepared to cope with it as we are, and on seeing the very real possibility of having a former member state's population in penury might cut us some slack. Again I'm not holding my breath.

The French having been waiting for the chance to kick us where it hurts since Agincourt.
We're about to neatly present our bits with one hand and a big hammer with the other.

I do get how a no deal could cause problems but equally I really don't get the idea that it will be a completely one way street. the EU needs UK trade to. If they stick to not giving us a deal surely it would be a case of "cutting off your nose to spite your face"?

Fellrunning - as you say, the French have been wanting to stick it to us for a long time and that is exactly what they have been doing to us even whilst in the EU!

Perhaps so but no one's dead. Which is the historical raison daitre of the EU. Actually I disagree that they have been screwing us but we could argue that point...
