Carrickfergus Midnight Marathon - summer edition.

Self-sufficient and unmarked trail marathon. One for the craic rather than racing.

Hope it's drier underfoot than Februarys edition, I was knee deep at one point.

It's all a bit murky Jenny. But the crux of it seems to be that a land owner withdrew consent for crossing their land at the 11th hour.

Why the landowner withdrew consent, is cause for speculation that I'm staying well clear off!

It's a shame. I did the same race in February and was looking forward to seeing how I got on in slightly drier conditions. Would have been nice to catch the sunrise as well. But I'll do it when it reschedules.

Mine is supposedly Beachy Head marathon in 159 days, having removed everything else from my race portfolio. I don't know at this stage whether it will go ahead or not.

But what do you reckon will be the first UK-based running event to actually happen?
