I do it occasionally as a necessity, but I hate it to be honest. Laggy Citrix connection, one screen as opposed to two so switching 'modes' all the time, distractions of the home.

Only if I've been at a meeting in London beforehand, as that entails a train commute, and my regular office is midway between my house and London and nowhere near a train station!
Can't type well on a laptop keyboard and really use two screens so I never do very much at home.

I've been working from home at least part of every day this week as the kid's school is one of the ones closed in Edinburgh at the moment.
It's been really difficult with the kids there as even when I lock myself away upstairs for conference calls they still want attention and like to reassure me that they are fine
Normally it works pretty well when the kids are at school. I find I can get a lot done but it's not good for my diet being left alone with my friend the fridge. I'm normally quite strict with myself at work but at home I have much less willpower.

I work from home about an average of a day per week, but it depends on what I am working on.
Obviously I cannot do my lab-based work from home, but if I am doing data analysis, writing papers or reports, or have a significant amount of reading and similar things, then working at home is far more efficient for these tasks - simply because I don't get distracted by people coming in and out of the office, needing to go up and down 2 flights of stairs to use the toilet, make a cup of tea etc.
There are advantages of WFH, but I do like being able to go in to the office as well though.

I could work in a gym, but that would cost lots. Got the garage sorted out into a free weights gym so clients come to me to train.....and the business pays for all my training toys.

Retired now, but when I worked, I found that if I had a lot to do, it was done better at home, and when I had little to do, it was done better in the office. In my final years, my colleagues were scattered all over the UK or the world, and the only benefit of going to the office was if I had a lot of printing to do, or just a change of scenery.

I work from home infrequently. It's nice not having to commute and be a bit laid back by putting some music on. However, there a few distractions and my wife takes advantage of me being around by sending me off to do a school run when I should be at the PC!

I couldn't work effectively on a kitchen table or sofa - OK for short period (and often did stuff whilst sat at airports etc), but had a full set up in my home office. Docking station for laptop, so full keyboard, two screens, printer etc. There was an expectation when I joined my last company that you would have a dedicated office space in order to wfh after all they were paying for all the equipment. Never had any problems with my OH having an office upstairs, we'd often just use skype for any mundane questions...and we'd take in turns to make tea. I know some of my past colleagues who were men often had some issues with their wives whilst they were working at home, as they presumed they were available for tasks that needed doing, although I know several couples who both work from home (but also travel) with separate offices. I'm studying now and having my home office set-up works brilliantly for that

When our office starting getting busier a few years back I was given the option of working full time from home and it was the best thing I ever did. My team all work from home in England so it's not as if I get to see them often anyway so don't miss the office environment one bit. I can chose if I want music (most often not), no stuffy overheated office as when the weather allows my window is wide to the wall and I can hear the birds singing and I no longer have to participate in the fun dress up days which I hated (don't mind dressing up and having fun in my own time mind, just not at when I am trying to work to deadlines)

Oh and it is a godsend when the weather is so icy I can't even get my car out of the driveway!
