Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

If I was a barista, I'd ask people if they wanted milk with their Americano, because a surprising number do.

"A black coffee please" is usually followed by "Do you mean an Americano?" which is always followed by "No, a black coffee please"

If I were a barista I would go to work in a curly white wig

I'm a simple country girl and overwhelmed by all these coffee options. Why does it have to be so complicated?

Even worse is when you don't drink coffee at all but tea, and you go into some of these places and get a large cup of hot water and milk with a teabag in it.

I just ask for black coffee with no milk these days.

What grips me is how long it takes to make the stuff. I miss the days when there was a glass pot of coffee sitting on the warmer. All they had to do was pour the stuff!

I think the trick is to let the barista go through their script of "take out or in", "milk"?

Blame it on the curse of the mystery shopper if you like, but interrupt their script only results in confusion.

The fucking cup sizes do my head in. Starbucks use Grande, Venti and Tall.

Which one is large, which is medium/regular and which is small you wankers?

Aaarrrggghhhh....
