Once folks have picked their way around the smoking wreckage of the first few high end German made cars and their occupants they might get the idea of what those numbers on the signs actually mean.

I remember once getting caught behind a very slow driver in the inside lane of a motorway (actuallly driving the same make and model as me, before I'd got good enough at anticipation to avoid that situation) and having somebody drive up my exhaust pipe to point my crimes out. Yeah right, I'm driving the car in front of me as well as this one. Totally my fault.

Christ on a bike, some were walking in with armfuls. Even worse I had a furtive eater just behind me. Every 2 mins she had to extricate a wine gum from an enormous packet...quietly, which made it seem louder and also much longer. A depressing experience.
