Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

I'm walking along a quiet street on my way to the station when a car comes from behind me over my left shoulder to turn right into their drive. Instead of waiting for I don't know 5 seconds for me to clear their drive they beep and then go ahead and drive onto their drive anyway. A less aware person could have got mashed.

Unless otherwise marked/signposted on a single carriageway, the left lane of a roundabout is for turning left and going ahead, whilst the right lane is for going right. Couple that with the fact the bint in the car next to us also had no awareness of what was going on around her, she almost took the arse off my car.

Interesting one IW. I was always led to believe that either lane was for going straight on (or appropriately L or R).
Either way the fuckwit in the mini who indicated left but went straight on bloody nearly got wiped out by me yesterday. Luckily my fuckwitometer was on and I sensed that she wasn't going to do what she was telling us she planned to ;-)

CStar - If it's single carriageway (meaning, I assume, one lane in each direction), then it has to be IW's way - otherwise you get 2 cars trying to fit in to one space as they go straight on together. If it's two lanes in each direction, then I think you'd be making the right assumption with yours.

My sister's a driving instructor, so it was drummed into me (with various reminders on FB to her pupils ;) ) - single carriageway with no lane markings (i.e. one road, not leading to a dual carriageway), left lane leading onto roundabout for left and ahead (into one lane), and right lane for going right (or past 12 o clock). If the roundabout leads onto 2 lanes, then by all means, take your pick (carefully & stay in that lane on the other side!). If the lanes differ from this on a certain roundabout, it'll normally be marked as to which lane you should be in for a given exit.

Something like this; nidirect.gov.uk

I'm by no means a driver who doesn't make mistakes, but she wasn't even bloody looking!
