Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

europcars' website

It won't let me enter the dates I want to hire a car, and it won't accept feedback without a booking reference.

enterprise car hire website

It tells me the vehicle I want is not available on the dates I want and asks me to choose another location to hire from. It only suggests locations that also don't have the vehicle on those dates.

"Baskets only" in a supermarket.

This pregnant woman has 8 x 2L bottles of diet coke for a party which can be quite heavy so she puts them in a trolly. Is told she can't pay for her 8 items because it is "baskets only" but the guy behind with 28 items in his basket is fine.

How is that faster? Change "baskets only" to "10 items or less". It is definitely not quicker.

"10 items or less" signs.

It's (technically) "Ten items or fewer". I suppose I'd let you have "10 items or fewer" too.

Self-service checkouts. Never leave without an assistant having to unravel something or put in a code, me shouting at the damn thing, it not liking the bag I've brought and an incandescent rage.

Justdistracted - I used to be exactly the same, infact I once statd to a lady in ASDA ,that they were putting people out of work and didn't help + you have to be a dab hand at scanning things into the machine.

Anyway I've persevered and found them very useful early morning / late at night. Another thing to check of my bucket least of *things to achieve, before I die*

When at the checkout at supermarket and the assistant has put through 10 items before you are ready and you never catch up and your stuff just piles up. Then they ask you how are you going to pay and you still have at least 10 items to pack away.
