Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

have to say I don't shy away from a L/S top or gloves - hate cold hands, shorts though? well I'll keep them on for as long as possible - no grinding as of yet to report.

OB, where do you run? Well south of the Pennines I'm guessing.

I think I could find you some nice places to run where you might appreciate a long sleeved top! :-)

The gloves and no long sleeve does work. The major blood vessels are quite deep in your arm (thus well insulated), but at the wrists they come right to the surface. Here the blood is cooled, or heated rapidly. Hence gloves can act as some insulation, and then the blood that goes back into your core is not quite as cooled as it would be otherwise. Thus gloves, even without a long sleeve can have quite a surprisingly large impact on keeping you warm overall.

Similar on very hot days - the logical thing is water over your head, but the best bang for your buck is to cool your hands or wrists (slip a couple of ice cubes into your wristbands for example) - same reason - the cooled blood goes straight back into your core, where you really need cooling.

And for thread relevance - the really cheap, tacky shitty why bother at all Xmas decs that (some) shops put up to get you to part with your cash.

Other people claiming to be offended by my choice of running clothing based on whether or not *they* feel the cold.

Lol at Vrap :)

Not being able tell my right from left at yoga last night! Kept missing all the moves because I had to think about which leg I was using. Was very frustrating.

I also appear to have completely forgotten how to spell the word for this '

So right now my brain is grinding mine.
