Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

Similarly, companies who request ratings the same day (minutes or even seconds) after they have just delivered the goods.

Particularly annoying for those items that need to be worn or used before you can give any feedback.

I've just bought some new walking boots - maybe come back and ask me in 6 months..

Or even worse, before you have received the item.

I won’t rate anyone that asks anymore. If a product or service is worthy of praise or criticism then I’ll email.
I’ve left low star ratings in the past but it has never led to enquiries as to why.

I remember on a online support conversion.

Will you rate me 5 stars today?
No! You couldn't help me.

Yes, but that's not really my fault, so I'll just put down 5 stars.

[Please remember that many employers who expect star ratings of their often gig-economy workers, will see anything less than 5* as being a negative outcome. Unless something was seriously wrong, rate 5* unless you're happy for the person to get the sack on the strength of your rating]

Writing something on a thread, deciding not to bother posting it/forgetting to post it, seeing it every time I look at the thread and not being able to wipe it out without posting something.

(Hopefully that's it gone now.)

Use the Clear button. It removes the text entirely without the need to post anything in place of your original text.
