DoricQuine I saw an advertisement for cat deterrents by the rspb. A device emitting ultrasound that’s supposed to deter cats and thus encourage birds. I hate those things. Ultrasound my foot I can hear them, and it's borderline painful. |

Ultrasound my foot I can hear them, and it's borderline painful. I have one and can hear it even at it’s highest frequency and at my age. The cats don’t seem to be deterrred by it or by the Lion poo. Using mats like these amazon.co.uk seemsto be helping, but if I put mulch over the top they are happy to just shit on that without digging a hole first. Damn things should be kept indoors/ in a secure garden or not at all. |

We have given up trying to plant anything in the front and have put down that matting with slate covering. Doesn't look particularly pretty but at least we are not getting the stench of cat poo when we have our living room windows open now.

One of our neighbours has resorted to putting lots of plastic forks into the flowerbeds, tines pointing upwards. It took me a few passes to work out the reason. (We have one "visiting" cat. I think it has other shitting places so we only get the occasional fragrant present.) |

……. And the cats round my way just drop it anywhere on the grass, surprised they bother walking over the road if it’s that much trouble 😡

I did consider borrowing my grandson's nerf gun but hubby wasn't keen in camping out in the garden all night to catch the wee buggers 🤣😂
