just somewhere to vent: yes Mr Taxi driver I do not appreciate you flashing me (with you lights) as soon as we've entered the 40mile speed limit and I'm still going at 30 or you then pulling into the right turn only lane at the lights to get in front ignoring the fact that the right turn only was still on red and that the road becomes dual carriageway a short distance after those lights! |

My last taxi journey was for a hospital appointment a year ago. It was a typical journey; i.e. speeding, pulling out into roundabouts without looking or braking, getting into wrong lanes just to overtake, hooting at every car in front which was driving within the speed limits. With under a mile to go, I told him to pull over and I'd walk the rest of the way. I wasn't close to being late so I could have down without it. I took the train and bus home even though I would be back much later than expected. If you have never taken a taxi ride in Rome - just don't! |

Half the stress of my last two flights has come from the taxi-ride to the airport.

[I take it these are mini-cans rather than black cabs? Funny thing is, to get your license for the former you have to do a driving test when they focus on safety and passenger comfort. You have to crawl around corners and roundabouts to get through. I guess that once you’ve got your license… if you are using Uber, who knows?]

I’m always happy to let another motorist pull out of a turn in front of me in crawling traffic, except taxis.

I spent an eye-watering £480 on a taxi yesterday. While we scooted down the motorway he was showing me pics of his BMW that he'd recently totalled.

The (increasing) number of people who claim something on Freecycle and then don't turn up to collect it.
