Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

I tried a bar of Cadbury Caramilk last week. It was £1. It tasted like the old Caramac if anyone remembers. Today it was £1.75 so I didn’t bother. That was at the Co-op.

MM I didn’t like it for the very reason that I didn’t think it tasted anything like the old style caramac.

I have had the odd bar from poundland. It's OK but not like caramac which I think you still can buy.

Much prefer caramac

Fair enough I didn’t mean to spark a caramac debate and will look out for the real thing! Pound shop or Sainsburys according to Google. 😂

We used to get Caramac bars in lieu of chocolate when I was a kid - "because it's better for you" 🤣🤣🤣. I suspect it was cheaper....

At some point in early childhood I was told I was "too old for Caramac". Likewise Milky Bar and Pink Panther bars. They were for toddlers who were too young to be allowed proper chocolate.

We've just watched a programme about the history of sweets (we know how to live ;-) ) and were appalled to hear that that excruciatingly awful Haribo advert where adults speak like children is regarded as hugely successful and has been replicated across the world. Take about grinding my gears!!
