She did offer them a cup of tea and cakes which they accepted! If it was me on the doorstep, I would have declined and apologised for the intrusion. Our two guests may have had something to do with it but, after over an hour, must have been as equally annoyed by their delay in leaving.

Another mystifying reason why per il nostro is wrong and del nostro is correct. I could do this until I was 100 and world never understand it. Why ragioni and not motivi? Well, it could be that you were asked to translate 'reasons' which is 'ragioni'. You were not asked to translate 'motives' which is 'motivi'.
