Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

New year's honours going to people who were just doing their job, esp politicians and slebs.

[GG - I'm not sure about the one going to the lad in the tent either. Not sure that his 'sleeping rough' should be encouraged really ... ]

I find a lot of the NY honours a joke.

As for the slimeball, Tony Blair being knighted the only thing he should get is a trial for war crimes.

Flashing outdoor Christmas lights, especially blue ones like my neighbour opposite has. I keep thinking the police are outside.

Midday yesterday, our family plus two guests about to enjoy a roast. Wife dishing up and preparing the gravy.

Doorbell rang and a lady plus her three children arrived mainly to see our guests. 90 minutes later with a fair but of persuasion she left. Dinner was not as hot as it should be and a bit dry as it could not have been kept warm much longer.

Why do people turn up for anything but a fleeting visit and especially at meal times? The table was laid and the kitchen activity was obvious so what did they not understand?

[I would have served up the dinner when ready (none for the intruders) and eaten mine. Anyone who preferred to chat rather than eat could have a cold dinner.]
