Fragile Do Not Bend
[Given what I do for a living, it always makes me twitch a bit when I go into a bookshop and see books in front of other books or books are on top of other books]

"People get angry that they can't get a refund on something that they knowingly purchased as non-refundable". This annoys me. People buying non-refundable train tickets, and then getting grumpy that they can't get them refunded when plans change due to C-19. It's annoying, but it's to be expected.

WL, I find it depends who's plans changed - did the traveler no longer have a need to travel (which is just tough luck for a refund) or was the train cancelled/rescheduled and is no longer what was bought, when a refund would seem more reasonable.

Having to repeat myself constantly, answering the same questions over and over again or giving the same people the same information over and over. This happens both with work and running club, so I basically spend most of my days repeatedly answering the same questions, to people who think I have all the time in the world, and nothing better to do than give them information they can either easily find themselves, or should already know.

[MMM, the concert they were travelling to Newcastle for was cancelled, according to the Beeb. I'd agree with you if the train operator had made the change.]

Sigh
School, again: "Dear Parent/Carer, Over the next two weeks we will be focussing on looking after ourselves and others. This will include work on mental health and emotional wellbeing, friendships and anti-bullying. As part of this work we would like to support the charity Young Minds by having a 'Wear Yellow Day' on World Mental Health Day, which is this Friday (9th October).
Young Minds is a charity that provides mental health support for young people. The past few months have been especially hard for young people and parents. The work they do to help children and young people with their mental health is needed now more than ever. If your child would like to participate, we would like them to wear their school uniform but accessories [sic] it with something yellow and make a donation to Young Minds. The suggested donation is £1 but any contributions will be greatly received. Pupils could wear a yellow tie, yellow socks, yellow hair band, yellow hat etc. Thank you for your continued support and I look forward to seeing a school full of sunshine on Friday."
Erm...worthwhile as this is, Sian doesn't have anything yellow to accessorize her uniform with, because you have been resolute in your enforcement of black/navy/grey for EVERYTHING, including hair bands. Therefore we would have to spend more than the suggested donation of £1 just to get something yellow, which is nonsensical as it would surely be better to add that to the donation. Anything else? Oh yes, you've given us two days' notice, during the week when we're at work, in a town with one small supermarket. I'll drop everything and try and get to a shop then shall I?

Hate that Sigh, particularly the short notice. Thankfully Marigold's school is completely lacking in imagination for things like that.
Has she any old t-shirts/ clothes the right colour that she could cut a strip from to tie into her hair/ round her waist?
