When I don't quite fully depress the clutch when shifting, and...well...that really grinds my gears.

Sigh
Letters from schools to parents which begin "We would like to remind you..." when it's the first time they've ever mentioned whatever follows and the deadline is now impossibly tight.
[Not had one for the forthcoming school year yet, but I'm expecting one, and the first subject will be regarding the day the school photos are taken].

[Sigh - I very much doubt that there will be school photos this term. Our school has cancelled all "outside" visitors (other than essential ones) and we are doing everything possible to avoid "bubbles" being popped!].

"we'll run together, I just want a plod anyway" followed by the speaker cantering off with the other runner and leaving me to run on my own.
I have no problem running on my own. Just don't insist you'll run with me then leave me in the first 200m.

[ugh. I have a friend like that. Every time she says she’ll run with me she runs off ahead. Her latest was “let me know if you want me to run with you. I’m giving blood that day so that will slow me down enough”. Gee thanks]

[Yup. And running ahead and looping back. I'm surprised that this is often touted as a good way for a faster runner to run with a slower runner. Unless the slower runner volunteers that they're happy with that arrangement, it's just disrespectful.]

Campaigners for mental health who publicise the belief that "bottling up their feelings" is a behaviour exclusive to men. There are probably just as many women who don't feel safe to disclose that they're struggling, often because of the way the men in their lives will respond if they do.
