Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

Whereas we would have liked a smart meter so we can try to get to the bottom of why our usage is higher than expected, but not heard a peep from our supplier since we asked, must be getting on for a year ago.

(Since then, my husband bought a electricity usage display thingy from a charity shop, which does what we want)

[I did insist that we had one of the newer ones. Which clearly don't even speak to the people who installed It :-( ]

The threat of no running in public areas thanks to those who think picnics, sunbathing and a day at the beach constitutes exercise.

[ I agree, yet I must admit I find it difficult to say that running is totally different from sitting in a deckchair on a in a park - for some people's mental health it might be a very good thing to do. ]

If you look at the DWP home page (and probably every other gov.uk page) it says you can go outside for health reasons. That's a lot wider than exercise.

Chris - I think they're inferring & referring to "any medical need, including to donate blood, avoid or escape risk of injury or harm, or to provide care or to help a vulnerable person" rather than a generic 'being outside because it's healthy'
