Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

Doesn't grind my gears so much but it saddens me.

It has seemed for quite a few years now that Remembrance Sunday has barely finished, when (figuratively) Noddy Holder appears out of nowhere shouting "It's Christmassss !!!!") and the time for solemnity, thought and thanks disappears into a frothing mass of consumerism, greed and over-indulgent BS.

During this evening's commute home, I couldn't believe how many people I nearly bumped into simply by them coming to an abrupt stop in the middle of the pavement. Two were looking for a bus even though they were only a few yards from the bus stop itself and another decided to come back for an Evening Standard. Don't they realise that there are of lot of other people around? Some wouldn't last five minutes if they travelled to work in London.

At least us runners are used to looking over our shoulders before making a change of direction.

Phil, people apparently aren't fitted with proximity sensors (or common sense!).

Fragile Do Not Bend
Reminds me of the woman in the supermarket the other day who was walking towards me but not looking in the direction of travel. I stood still to see if she would walk into my trolley. She did.

Phil - I'm a cyclist and runner and my latest challenge seems to be people on bikes on the phone just randomly changing course :`0

The expression "on the spectrum". The thing about a spectrum is that everything/everyone is somewhere on it. You can't go around saying the blue light is on the electromagnetic spectrum as if red light weren't.
