75% of people at work calling me 'Charles', because that's my displayed name on email and I can't change it.

[I'd have thought the system admin could change it though. Are there examples of people changing their surnames after marriage that you can cite?]

Fragile Do Not Bend
My supervisor telling me to phone my GP surgery and ask for a phone consultation as I’ve had flu like symptoms for a few days. I’m sure I’ll just get told to stay in bed, take paracetamol and keep hydrated (or something like that). Bollocks to that, I’m not wasting the GP’s time.

[Charlie - or do you have a 'known as' or ability to add alias addresses alongside the primary one?]

It's corporate Gmail - I can change my signature every morning but it reverts back overnight.
It's not so much a rant about email as how the company has decided I'm a Charles despite me putting 'Charlie' in the 'Known As' field on my application - I can still see that field with the same value on the About You section of the HR system, but I'm buggered if I know what use it serves.
Since my manager isn't bothered, I might have to blackmail the director who's keen for a high score on the upcoming engagement survey.

Dear HR department,
Whilst I used to go by the name of Charles, I now wish to be aligned with a different gender and will in future be using the name Charlie. Please arrange to update all corporate records accordingly.

My gym. I tried running on the treadmill this evening, and it was so hideous I decided to go and swim. Got ready, headed for pool. It closes in five minutes. What? It usually closes 15 minutes before the gym does.
Not on Fridays. On Fridays it closes half an hour early.

When a young lady from Luxembourg sharing a room with my son at a hostel, and is is looked after by my son, then takes his phone charger (a deliberate act apparently. She had lost hers).
