Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

the "microsoft engineers" ringing to fix my hacked computer

at least stringing them along was time they weren't trying to rob somebody else, seems they were upset at how much of their time I wasted, they rang back to just swear down the phone :)

The way the Facebook algorithm seems to assume that the thing I'll want on top of my news feed every time I refresh it is an adult being a big baby about having a dose of the cold.

Fierce and Focused Fleecy
Nigel Slater’s voice and the way he says ‘creamy’.

Actually, the way he says everything. He should stick to writing and be banned from telly.

[agree Fleecy. I love his books but find him incredibly irritating]

The worst thing is he contaminates his (actually very good) books by being on telly!

Fragile Do Not Bend
It’s not just the way he talks, it’s also the way that he moves. Everything is handled so slowly and carefully, as if it might break. Dry ingredients are delicately sprinkled from a great height.
