Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch
or for an ad-free Fetcheveryone experience!

I watch his programmes occasionally but always find myself wanting to tell him to go and wash his hair, it always looks greasy. But his food looks great, I always fancy whatever it is he cooks and I am jealous of his garden.

The recipe books are really accessible. Appetite is pretty much my cooking bible.

The way he says ‘supper’ is much mocked in our household

I have never come across Nigel Slater any way except in print. I'll try not to change that.

(So.. not having a telly I just got Niger Slater on YouTube. ..can't really see the problem with how he says supper. Must be because I am a southerner. I did notice he drops the herbs on from a bit of a height. Nice garden..)

If you ever catch early Nigel on the food channel, it’s very different. It’s like soft porn. And Nigel was a big lad.

Waved and said "Good morning" to four runners this morning, only getting one back from an older lady runner. The other three pretended I wasn't there or were just plain rude. If someone greets you, it isn't runners' etiquette to reply, it's good manners.

I like Nigel Slater - there I've said it!

I had two smiles returned to me this morning Phil - there seemed to be a lot of *fuck I must start to run / train blokes out this morning. Dressed in those stupid fucking footballer type running tights worn under there shorts, woolly hats on and oversized headphones.

Personally it's not the tights I find stupid, it's the wearing them under great big baggy shorts.
