That's because college is already 2 syllables, not as much of a mouthful as university. I don't actually know anyone who says the word university any more...But then I grew up in Australia where they have always been unis, it probably even says uni in their logos nowadays

I only need one for a rail photocard so doesn't need to be to the same standards as a passport. I thought I would be an easy job to get hubby to photograph me and print it using Boots' machine for 46p but no, despite me reading it on my laptop it would still print out to the full size of the paper. Went to Snappy Snaps, their machines have a special program for printing passport photos but it was going to cost £7! Sod it, I'm buying photo paper from Poundland.
