The fact I can't find the fluffy towel thing that goes on the end of my mop. I've obviously washed it, but where the fuck did I put it? My floors 'really' need a clean and buying a new mop will grind my gears even more!

My gears are ground by the concept that at age 60 the NHS consider me so decrepit that I have to have free prescriptions, yet DWP consider me able to work for a further 7 years before I get my state pension*
If you want to save about a gazillion pounds to give to the NHS how about making people pay for their prescriptions up to state retirement age.
(Ducks down to avoid brickbats before pointing out that the maximum you can pay in a year for prescriptions, if you need them regularly like me, is £100 with a "season ticket")
* [ This is entirely academic for me as I am in one of those jobs where I will probably work in some form until I literally drop]

Fellrunning everyone gets free prescriptions in Scotland. Got my free bus pass at 60, I don't need it and accept that some over 60s do but I can get a bus anywhere in Scotland for no more than a 50p booking fee, I don't need others to pay for my free bus travel.

Free bus travel has the further advantages of taking doddery drivers off the road, reducing congestion where that's a consideration, and is a fair-ish way of subsidising buses.

The gears I share with my husband were ground to shreds by mud from the road in combination with dry weather today. The noise and sensation of the resultant grinding paste actually hurt.

Neil bl**dy Oliver. Bad enough when scheduled and avoidable, especially galling when filling in an unexpected gap in the schedules! Other historians are available.

I don't know how many hours I've spent searching for the little key to change attachments on my little Black & Decker sander (it currently has a bit sticking out for doing inside corners, which is no good for what I want to do). I was sure I could picture what it looked like, but can't remember the last time I saw or used it (definitely not in the new house).
Looking at the manual, it turns out no such thing actually even exists - you simply remove the locking screw with a Philips screwdriver.

Nice. Possibly deserves an airing in the senior moments thread, too
