what's a good first one to do in say Feb.....followed up by a second in say June
(my last marathon time was about 8 hours - was on a tourist journey - but could have gone on easily)

Ultra's rock i gather. Not got my first until Feb then another in June. I suspect Hipps and Shades will find me some more. Does 3 marathons in 3 days count ;)

Neither does a 52.4 ultra count as 2 marathons

Run Free, I believe Comrades is HILLY but it depends which way they run it. They turn it around every year I think. SOme years they run UP the mountains and some years they run DOWN. I think that's right anyway. :-)

Lore of Running (Noakes) and Everyone's Guide to Distance Running (Williamson) both have schedules and discussion focused on Comrades.

Plenty of time to run a 5 hour marathon before June.

I forgot about that one in August oops. So i have 3 Ultras for 2008 so far as well as at least 10 marathons. A bit of a busy year for me then
