Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch
or for an ad-free Fetcheveryone experience!

I tackled my running kit shelves yesterday. I didn't actually throw anything away but thanks to Marie Kondo and a friend waxing lyrical about it I went from this: (my running kit fell out of the cupboard every time I went to get anything out)

to this:

I have far more running stuff than I need but I'm not getting rid of any of it :-)

Well done LD. My running kit lives in a similar box, except that my box has a big split in it from trying to force the lid onto it when it was clearly overflowing and now, as the lid doesn't fit at all, it's a closer resemblance to picture 1 than picture 2 :-)

I will confess that my work on my socks and tights drawer this afternoon wasn't quite as pleasing - it's much tidier, and I've disposed of a lot of pairs of tights, but it seems I just have too many socks for the size of drawer. I can't bring myself to throw good socks away though.

My running kit lives in 3 fabric bags hanging on a door hiding the washing machine, they don't look very elegant but I have one for bras/pants/socks/hankies/random small items like buffs, one for tshirts and vests and one for capris and tights, actually and another for cold weather or wet weather stuff like hats and gloves and rain jackets. I hang my swimming costume to dry there and my shoes hang up there too, and a bag with little towels for the gym, and the kids' swimming stuff. I do purge it all quite regularly, my kit collection is probably the most organised of any of my clothes :)
Yours looks much prettier Latterly but I have zero room in my house except for this one spot to keep my kit (the remainder of the clothes storage is 97% Mr fleecy's...)

I have used the same method as LD on my t-shirt, long sleeved tops and jumper drawers which means I can now see what it in them rather than the previous Victoria sandwich approach which meant I just rummaged around trying to find what I wanted. Need to do my running drawer too as it looks like LD's original picture

I have a socks and tights drawer too LD. Not only can I not bring myself to throw good socks away, I rarely throw away the ones full of holes.
I must resolve to do better - in fact I might go and have a look at it later this evening... I'll report back when I have done so :-)

".... This month, each of you must get rid of one thing on the first day. On the second, two things. Three items on the third. So forth, and so on. Anything can go! Clothes, furniture, electronics, tools, decorations, etc. Donate, sell, or trash. Whatever you do, each material possession must be out of your house—and out of your life—by midnight each day."
