Sorry to be late to the party and miss the raisins. Jet has eaten various things including chocolate and dried fruit and peach kernels (cracked open) but usually I get my hand down his throat before he swallows the snaffled goods. When it's a weekday and the amount looks significant (e.g the bag of pain au chocolate) I've called our vet. On Sundays and Bank holidays I have indeed weighed the pack of raisins to see how much is missing, and those on-line calculators are excellent. I'm getting a bit more relaxed now and look for symptoms before calling for help.

Thanks helegant. peach kernels have cyanide in right? That would be scary! I'm having to chastise the whole family for leaving things on surfaces that are within an eager border collies snout/tongue range.

Just removed an Eat Natural chocolate and nuts protein bar from Rory. Fortunately still in it's packet.
Is it terrible that I'm still considering eating it?

I've left it on top of the bookcase. I'll eat it a bit later when I've forgotten it's been in the dog's mouth

We've brought Lottie down to the seaside with us, for her first visit to the beach. OH took this photo of them yesterday. I love it Lottie is not quite as keen on the waves as Flossie but seems to think if it's OK with her big cousin, it must be alright

Lovely picture LD
A very foolish cat jumped onto the top of our side gate this morning (fortunately our side gate is over five feet high). It then proceeded to sit there watching as Wanda hurled herself at the gate barking furiously and would occasionally swipe a paw towards her face if Wanda jumped high enough. Eventually the novelty of Staffie-baiting wore off and it jumped onto the roof of next door's shed.
I have never seen a dog more outraged

Ha in those circumstances, Flossie would be very 'huffy' but pretend the cat wasn't there at all. There's a black cat at the seaside who does something very similar sitting on a high window-sill and you can almost hear Flossie swearing under her breath at it but not deigning to acknowledge openly that she's seen it

Delightful photo, LD. Love it.
Baroness- Jess would have been more like Wanda and probably wouod have knocked herself out on the fence if she failed to reach the cat. Which she would.
