There seems to be a lot of tummy-bug things about recently - hope she recovers quickly PH, certainly in time to eat cake on her birthday!

Good news. I found my gloves! I'm taking this to be some sort of good omen that I will finish within the cut off time.

That's good Angel Wings. Sounds like gloves are going to be needed. I'm sure you will be round within the cut off time.

Well that was a wet one! Good fun though. I know I shouldn't be bothered but no medal is a bit disappointing.

Wet and windy and didn't wrap up warm enough. Spent about half an hour in the car afterwards defrosting and drying. Enjoyable till about 18 when my left knee decided not to play. Run/walk from then on and a walk through the finish line, something I've never done before. No medal was a bit of a downer for me too, but a medal was never shown on the race website, so caveat emptor, as they say. My tech vest I got though is a size too small, and I couldn't be arsed to limp back to the finish tent to exchange it. I might ask them separately. The "certificate of completion" was a bit naff, too, I thought. |

Yes, a certificate in place of a medal was rather poor when it was quite a pricey event for one without the expense of road closures. The bag drop was not good either - it seemed to be disorganised and unattended and the tent was letting in the elements so some stuff had got wet and muddy.

Sorry you got injured Frobester. That is a long way to have had to run/walk in cruddy weather.

No worries Becca, how did your race go? I saw you at the start and you looked pretty relaxed.
