Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

I’ve dine the last 3 Berlin marathons (4 in total) good event & sinple logistics.

The race starts & finishes by the Brandenburg Gate (500 metres away ?) very close to the Haubahnhof (central train station) The S Bahn (overground trains) & U-Bahn (tube) trains are simple to navigate & the expo is relatively central at the old airport.

Have fun & if there any help or advice you need just drop me a line ?

I'm doing Berlin too - looking forward to it! One tip I got was to look at accommodation on/near an S-Bahn or U-Bahn route to the start rather than on a bus route, as the buses could well be cancelled/re-routed/delayed etc on the day, which makes total sense, but might not have thought of it myself!

It's tough to find a hotel or hostel that isn't within half a mile of an S or U-Bahn station, its a very good transport Network - I stayed at Hotel Zoo last year, Holiday inn at Potsdam Platz the year before & "Big Momma's" hostel when doing it on the cheap in 2022.

Thanks everyone! Probably looking to arrive on Saturday morning and go straight to collect my race pack.

Finding accommodation somewhere not too far away. I guess that everyone heads to Berlin Central Station on race day. Hopefully, there is a good service as I am completely in the dark for once!

Berlin is amazing - easy place to get around too, and there's good service into the train station on the morning. You'll be fine! :)

Yes, I thought the transport system looked very good - as you say, loads of stations and reliable service from what I hear! I've booked a Motel One (not the closest one to the start line but not massively far away) - it wasn't a bad price, and I stayed in one for the Barcelona Half Marathon a few years ago and really liked it.

The transport I need to consider the most is for the Saturday if we decide to go to a parkrun! The Berlin ones are cancelled on marathon weekend, but there are a couple of options to get to by train, although it'll mean quite an early start. One of them is a 'Z', which is tempting!

We went out to Ziegelweise parkrun a few years ago pre Berlin.
